Progress Reports Update

As the first quarter comes to a close, we wanted to share information on how you can virtually access your child’s report card. The first rating period ended November 11 for K-12.

Grades 9-12
*Report cards will be posted in Sapphire on Friday, November 20.

Grades K-8
*Elementary Progress Reports will be shared with families during virtual parent-teacher conferences on November 23 & 24. Please contact your child’s teacher to schedule your virtual conference.
*Middle School Report Cards will be shared with families at parent-teacher conferences, posted in the  Sapphire Community Portal & mailed the week of November 20.

As a part of Virtual Campus, ASD has created a space for flexibility in grading with the following adjustments:
*Elementary student performance will no longer be graded as a “1 - little to no evidence of proficiency”; instead “IE” will be used, if there is insufficient evidence to assess student progress in a particular standard.
*Secondary students that have missed due to access to technology or Wi-Fi access, and/or have excessive absences will not be assigned a “0” grade. Students can receive a grade of “I” for Incomplete or an “IP” for In Progress. I or IP work will need to be completed before the next mid-quarter progress report update.
*Introduced in the spring, “E” will mark exempt status. Exempt can be considered and used for students with extenuating health, device, or access issues.
*New comments have been added to reflect behaviors and participation in Virtual Campus, specific to online activity & engagement.

If you do not have a Sapphire Parent Portal account, please visit this page for information on how to set one up. The Sapphire Parent Portal allows you to track student grades, attendance, and update your personal contact information.
