COVID-19 Case Dashboard

As of April 19, 2021, the first day of in-person learning, ASD will post information on reported cases of COVID-19 in our buildings on this page. Cases listed on the below Dashboard include both students and staff and will be updated by 5:00 PM on the day a positive case is reported.

Parent & Staff Notifciation

When a case is identified in a school:
  • A voicemail and letter/email notification via School Messenger to parents, guardians, and staff who provide the District with an accurate and accessible phone number and email address. To ensure that you receive all communication in a timely manner, please contact your building principal and request that your emergency contact information is updated in all District computer systems, including the School Messenger Notification System.
  • A sample of this letter can be found below the dashboard.
  • Additionally, the ASD Student Services Department, Human Resources Department will complete contact tracing and be in contact with anyone who may need to quarantine.

Classroom / Building Closure

Cases on the dashboard list the date of the person's last day in school/work and remain on the dashboard for 14 days. If a positive individual has been absent from school for more than 14 days, the case is not listed on the dashboard.

To ensure student and staff privacy, ASD will not provide any further information regarding affected individuals.

When a potential COVID-19 outbreak is suspected, the Allentown Health Bureau will work together with ASD to provide guidance and recommendations related to quarantine and the closing of classrooms or the entire school building, if necessary. If it is decided that a classroom or school will be closed temporarily, those staff and students will move to full virtual instruction until the end of the quarantine/isolation period. The thresholds are determined based on the number of staff/students in a building. The case count resets after the period a school building is closed.

More information on how ASD will use the guidance from PDE to determine building or classroom closure can be found here.
