ALLENTOWN - The Allentown School District would like to formally congratulate Mrs. Nancy Wilt & Mrs. Lisa Conover who have been elected as the new President & Vice President of the Allentown School District Board of Directors!

The December 16 meeting also served as an opportunity to swear in newly elected and re-elected board members: LaTarsha Brown, Lisa Conover, Phoebe Harris, and Jennifer Ortiz.

Both Mrs. Wilt and Mrs. Conover were unanimously voted into their new positions, and will serve a one year term.

Mrs. Wilt was first elected to the board in November 2019, where she served as co-chair of the education and policy committees. Mrs. Wilt has also represented ASD on the City Recreation Commission, the Upside Allentown Education subcommittee and as the secretary for the Allentown School District Foundation Board. This will be her second term as President.

Mrs. Conover has served on the board since 2017, and serves on the education and policy committees. She is also the chair of the Safety Task Force and member of the LCTI JOC. This is her first time serving as board Vice President.

Tonight, the board also accepted the resignation of Linda Vega-Sirop, who has been elected to serve Magistrate District Judge.

“Both Mrs. Wilt and Mrs. Conover bring incredible leadership and expertise to the board and are excited to continue to serve the children & families in the Allentown School District in this new capacity,” said Superintendent Dr. John Stanford. “We congratulate them and look forward to their guidance over the next year.”
