Elementary PAL Basketball Championship Recap

Elementary PAL Basketball Championship Recap
Posted on 03/29/2019
After an intense 10 week season, the top four elementary teams faced off at Muhlenberg College on March 27, 2019, for the annual PAL Basketball Championship games.

Families packed the stands from all four schools to cheer on our ASD students. In the consolation game, Lehigh Parkway Red faced Union Terrace Orange for third place. This game came down to the final minutes and was extremely well played by both teams. In the final minutes, Lehigh Parkway Red edged UT orange to capture third place. Congratulations to both teams and their coaches for all their hard work throughout the season, and in the playoffs.

The Championship Game began with a ceremonial tip-off with Allentown Mayor Ray O’Connell and Superintendent Thomas Parker. Dodd Royal Blue faced last year’s defending champion Sheridan Orange. After tip-off, it appeared this was going to be a close game, and the teams traded leads until halftime. Coming out of the half Dodd had a slight lead, but never looked back. Sheridan fought hard, but when the final buzzer ended, the PAL Elementary trophy was presented to Dodd Royal Blue, and their coaches Coach Wright and Coach China.

Congratulations to Dodd Royal Blue on an amazing season, and taking home first place!

Thank you to the city of Allentown and Allentown Police Department for continuing this amazing program year after year. PAL Basketball provides an opportunity for ASD students and coaches to build relationships with our local police force. We look forward to an exciting 2019-2020 season!
