Allentown School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students' physical well-being, growth, development and readiness to learn.
The Board is committed to promoting a district-wide Coordinated School Health Program that supports student wellness, proper nutrition, which includes proper nutrition, promotion of nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a Coordinated School Health Program, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement.
ASD's Wellness Policy (Policy 246) is currently under review by the board. The district is committed to seeking feedback from stakeholders on this policy. Please review the policy below - any additions or recommended changes to the existing policy will be typed in bold red text.
