Media Requests/ Media Opt-Out Form

The Allentown School District takes great pride in sharing the accomplishments of our students with our community! 

ASD and all schools also actively use social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) to connect with our families. Photographs and videos of students may be used for classroom projects, the district website, or social media channels, in our print publications, and for other school-related purposes. We also share great stories with our local media outlets for greater exposure in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. 

Our website and official social channels are a great place to find accurate and reliable information. Follow the district and your child’s school to stay up to date!

Members of the media

All requests for interview, event coverage etc, must be approved in advance by the Allentown School District Office of Communications. Before visiting a school, please request approval by contacting [email protected]

Staff requesting media coverage of an event or school based initiative should also seek approval from the Office of Communications. 

Media Information for Staff Parents / Guardians

Parents/Guardians will be notified in advance of individual student interviews for external media organizations or any other situations where an outside organization or community partner may be taking photographs of specific students. 

This form will be distributed by your child's school at the start of each school year and is available in both English & Spanish.  

Please note: Prior to 2020, students had to sign a photo release form to allow their photos to be used. ASD has now switched to an OPT-OUT form, meaning you will only need to complete the form if you DO NOT give permission for your child to be photographed.
