AllentownSchool District

Budget Information

At its meeting on April 28, 2022, the Allentown Board of School Directors voted to approve the school district’s preliminary budget for the 2022-23 school year.

Voting on the proposed final budget is a procedural step required of all Pennsylvania school boards. The ASD board will officially vote to approve the 2022-23 final budget at its meeting on June 23, 2022.

ASD‘s preliminary budget of approximately $394 million is built on an assumption of a 10 percent increase in Basic Education Funding and a 5 percent increase in Special Education Funding from the state. If the Pennsylvania General Assembly chooses to adopt the governor’s proposed education budget for 2022-23, it would significantly lessen ASD’s reliance on local property tax increases to maintain funding for our schools.

The statutory deadline for the board to adopt the district’s final budget is June 30. The final budget must be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education by July 15, 2022.

Here you will find the Proposed Budget in the PDE 2028 Form. This form is not final until voted on.
