COVID-19 Scenarios

*Students/Staff  who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 will be escorted to isolation and asked to mask while waiting for parent/guardian pick up from the health room.

#1- COVID-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC


Yes

Vaccination status does not matter

Individuals should be tested for COVID-19. If they choose not to test, they must isolate for 5 days from the onset of symptoms. The day symptoms started is counted as day 0. A mask must be worn for 5 full days upon return to school.

If the test is positive, individual must isolate for 5 days from the onset of symptoms. The day symptoms started is counted as day 0. May return to school on day 6 if symptoms have improved and they have been fever free for 24 hours without taking a fever reducing medication. A mask must be worn from day 6 through day 10. 

If the test is negative, individual may return to school after 24 hours of being fever free, without taking a fever reducing medication, and if symptoms have improved. 

#2-Positive COVID-19 test

Individual must isolate for 5 days from the start of symptoms. The day symptoms started is counted as day 0. May return to school on day 6 if symptoms have improved and they have been fever free for 24 hours without taking a fever reducing medication. A mask must be worn from day 6 through day 10.

#3- Positive COVID-19 test  without symptoms

Individual must isolate for 5 days from the test day. The day the test was taken is counted as day 0. A mask must be worn for 5 full days upon return to school. 

#4- Household member tests positive for COVID-19


No


Vaccination status does not matter


Regardless of vaccination status, the CDC recommends that individuals living with a household member who tests positive, monitor for symptoms, wear a mask for 10 days, and test on day 6 (5 full days after last exposure).
