ALLENTOWN, PA — On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the Allentown School District announced that it is joining the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Learner-Centered Future-Driven Education Network, which is committed to transforming public education into a more equitable, inclusive system focused on the whole learner.
The Learning 2025 Network is inspired by the groundbreaking report from the AASA Learning 2025 National Commission, aiming to turn the bold vision of a future-driven, learner-centered education into a reality. By joining this Network, the District takes a strategic step towards ensuring every student can gain the skills and knowledge they need for the rapidly evolving future.
“The Allentown School District’s decision to join the Learning 2025 Network aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing a high-quality, comprehensive education that prepares our students for college, career, and life beyond high school,” said Dr. Carol D. Birks, Allentown School District’s Superintendent. “We are excited to be a part of this transformative movement and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our students and community.”
As a part of the Learning 2025 Network, the Allentown School District can access many resources, strategic mentorship, and professional development opportunities. This collaborative community enables the District to learn from innovative strategies and best practices at other districts across the nation and apply these insights here.
In addition, participating in the Learning 2025 Network provides a platform to share work and gain recognition for the District’s efforts on a national stage. Joining the Learning 2025 Network signifies the Allentown School District’s continuous commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need for a bright and inclusive future.
