“We congratulate these educators and leaders who are stepping into new roles to help stabilize the leadership team at William Allen High School,” said Superintendent, Dr. John Stanford. “These three individuals have dedicated a large portion of their careers to ASD and highlight the importance of growing our leaders from within.”

Additionally, Toomey Anderson will join the district as ASD’s new Coordinator of Student Activities & Athletics. In this role, Mr. Anderson will be responsible for assisting the Director of Operations in enhancing the district’s student activities & athletic programming at all grade levels. He will focus on increasing student participation in current programs, and help the district expand what extracurriculars are offered to students in Allentown.

Anderson is the CEO and Founder of Camp AWESOME and the Lehigh Valley AWESOME!Fest, formerly Sportsfest, which brings over 100 high school basketball teams together each summer.

“Participation in sports and extracurricular activities has far-ranging benefits that touch on many aspects of a child’s development,” said Superintendent Stanford. “High participation in activities, where students are engaged beyond the school day, has the ability to enrich the overall school culture and climate, foster stronger school spirit and increase academic performance.”

Through the American Rescue Plan ESSER funds, ASD will be investing roughly $1 million into expanding athletics & student activities aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of our students.
